Illinois Department of Corrections Officer Reuben Martinez visited the Criminal Justice classes today to demonstrate restraint devices he uses at his job at Stateville Correctional Center. Officer Martinez's son, Alex Martinez from Lockport High School arranged for his father to present to the Criminal Justice students and also volunteered for the demonstration. In addition to teaching students about restraints, Office Martinez did a great job informing students about occupations and career pathways in the Illinois corrections system. The Criminal Justice students extend their gratitude to Stateville's warden for allowing Officer Martinez to demonstrate his skills.
