National Guard visits Wilco Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Programs

Today, the National Guard visited the Wilco Area Career Center's Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Programs instructed by Michelle Gunther and Martin van Heeswijk.   The visit was to educate the classes and discuss the opportunities of joining the National Guard and what it can provide for students.

Often, when the military walks into schools, they encounter a lot of misconceptions about what the National Guard can offer students to help their future. Joining the Guard gives you more than just the pride that comes from serving your country. You can earn benefits to help pay for your education and expenses, and you can complete your education while you serve. The National Guard offers many programs for every type of student, whether you're still in high school, attending college or working toward a vocational certification.  During today's visit the National Guard was able to educate students on opportunities they offer.  The National Guard team filled the visit with fun activities, engaging Q & A discussions, as well as a giant Black Ops Bounce Obstacle Course used for testing their physical skills, which is essential in the career of law enforcement and criminal justice.

Thank you to the National Guard team for spending the day inspiring the students enrolled in the Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Programs at Wilco!
