Description
This off campus course is open to students to attend a state-approved school of nail technology. Students will develop good communication skills, time management, and anThis off-campus course is available to students enrolled in a state-approved nail technology school. Students will enhance their communication skills, time management, and attention to detail. The course will focus on all areas of nail care, nail issues, artificial nails, and nail products. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to take the state certification exam.
Students are required to provide their own transportation to Lemont or Joliet locations and complete the application process.
Certification may include: IDFPR State Certification
Estimated cost: $800 student fee
Guidance Notes: 80% of the time in the lab & weekly assignments/quizzes
Philosophy
The primary purpose of the Nail Technology course is to train the student in basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, Workplace skills and desirable attitudes necessary for entry level positions as a Nail Technician or related career avenue. We help students learn to recognize and improve the condition of nails and skin using the latest nail technology
Goals
The nail technology course consists of instruction of both theoretical and practical skill development required for licensure. Students are graded on theory assignments along with practical laboratory activities. Students must complete general theory curriculum which demonstrates competence in both theory and practical skills before being allowed to participate in laboratory activities. Theory and practice are integrated throughout the course.

Finish Anatomy, Nail Tips, Nail Wraps, Acrylics, Gels, and Nail Art 65 hours
Client Consultation, Selling, Business Practices, Clinical Experience 150 hours
Clinical Experience 50 hours350 hours which follow the State of Illinois requirements for Nail Technology
