ACE Course Description
ACE: Architecture, Construction Management, and Engineering
The ACE program aims to give students a thorough understanding of the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in the built environment. This includes fields like architecture, building engineering, construction management, and more. We know this can be a challenging but fulfilling journey, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Our relevant and rigorous college courses provide a strong foundation in the key areas of the building industry. Each ACE class covers terminology, processes, skills, and industry-specific topics to give students a complete overview of the fundamentals of building and construction. The ACE program is perfect for students interested in the built environment and potential careers in construction. Earning 12 college credits, students will receive a Certificate of Completion in Basic Construction, a college credential from JJC. These credits can be applied toward further study at JJC or used as a foundation for additional education elsewhere.
Students are required to provide their own transportation to and from class at Joliet Junior College (JJC) Main Campus, M-Th 12:30 p.m.- 1:45/2:15 p.m., and schedule to follow JJC calendar, including holidays, spring break, etc. A JJC registration application for the program is required.
Dual credit: Joliet Junior College ACH100, CM100, EGR105, AEC106, AEC229, OPS111, AND SET100 (12 credit hours).
Certifications may include: OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety (1 credit hour)
Guidance Note: Senior-only program. Documentation of a 95% attendance rate, a 2.5 GPA, and a record of good behavior. It is recommended that students have earned a ‘C’ or higher in all mathematics courses and have senior status.
