Business Logistics Course Description
This dual credit course is offered through a partnership with Joliet Junior College. It focuses on key topics such as supply chain and operations management, transportation and distribution, cargo security compliance, import/export basics, and professional business and communication skills needed for success in the field. The course includes four classes: Transportation and Physical Distribution (SCM100/3 credit hours), Introduction to Supply Chain Management (SCM110/3 credit hours), International Logistics (SCM150/3 credit hours), and Purchasing and Supply Management (SCM160/2 credit hours), totaling 11 credit hours. It is open to juniors and seniors; however, students must start the program during their junior year to earn the certificate, though they can take the Business Logistics or Business Management course in any order. Additionally, students may enroll in a qualifying course at their home school concurrently to meet the additional business course requirements for the certificate.
