Alumni Corner

We are excited to share some wonderful updates from two of our talented Wilco alumni, Olivia Klimek (Romeoville High School, Class of 2024) and Tigerlily Leech (Bolingbrook High School, Class of 2024). Both are now thriving in their second year at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, where they are majoring in Baking and Pastries.

Recently, Olivia and Tigerlily led a culinary demonstration where they prepared a delicious Bananas & Peach Foster and showcased how to smoke cheese and peaches using a mini smoker. They also guided students through techniques on how to infuse food with layers of flavor and aroma using smoke.

When asked what advise they would give to culinary arts students, Olivia said that taking risks in life and the kitchen are necessary for growth, and Tigerlily advised to stay true to yourself and let your personality be seen by others.

We are so proud to see Olivia and Tigerlily continuing to grow as chefs and leaders in the culinary field. Their dedication, creativity, and passion inspire both current students and fellow alumni.

Their journey is a wonderful reminder of how the skills and experiences gained at Wilco can open doors to exciting opportunities in higher education and beyond.
